Position Summary

This position is on the Investment team, which comprises Public Equities, Fixed Income and Private Markets. The Associate reports to the two Public Equities Associate Portfolio Managers, provides analytical support to the Public Equities team, and helps identify, evaluate, and manage beta-one public equities and absolute return hedge fund investment opportunities globally through internal research and engagement with external investment managers. • Help manage the pipeline of public equities and absolute return investment opportunities, schedule and attend meetings/calls with existing and potential investment managers, prepare detailed meeting/call notes, and update and maintain our research management system.
  • Support and implement various aspects of the investment process, including conducting analysis and due diligence on potential investment managers; contributing to developing, writing, and presenting investment recommendation memos; and assisting in the transaction closing process.
  • Participate in developing and continuing integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into our investment process.
  • Participate in the portfolio management and monitoring of public equities and absolute return investment portfolios, including portfolio-level analysis, investment manager monitoring, and performance reviews at the portfolio and manager levels.
  • Conduct industry research on public equities and absolute return strategies.
  • Undertake domestic and international travel as required.
  • Undertake other duties and ad-hoc projects as required.

  • Progress towards, or completion of, the CFA or CAIA designation is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with FactSet, Bloomberg, and other analytical platforms is considered an asset.
